Our story

Trustworthy, Transparent And Totally Professional

South West Household Plumbing is a local, family-run plumbing business serving homeowners across Bristol and the surrounding 35 miles. For over 13 years, we’ve been the team Bristol families call when they need a plumber who turns up when they say they will, does the job properly, and charges a fair price with no nasty surprises.

We’re domestic specialists, which means we focus entirely on residential properties. Houses, bungalows, terraces, flats. Everything from a dripping tap on a Tuesday morning to a full bathroom or kitchen installation, handled by a team that genuinely cares about doing it right.

What sets us apart is simple. We’re honest about what a job involves, upfront about pricing, and we treat your home with the respect we’d want in our own. Our Gas Safe registered engineers handle anything involving gas or boilers, and every member of the team is qualified, insured and properly trained.

Plumbing FAQs

Yes. Our team is fully qualified, fully insured, and any work involving gas or boilers is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers (Gas Safe registration is a legal requirement in the UK for any gas work). We've been operating across Bristol for over 13 years, and every member of the team is properly trained and properly accountable.

We cover the whole of Bristol, every postcode from BS1 through to BS16, plus the surrounding areas within around 35 miles. That includes Bath, Weston-super-Mare, Yate, Portishead, Nailsea, Clevedon, Thornbury, Keynsham and Bradley Stoke, along with Bristol suburbs like Kingswood, Clifton, Bedminster, Redland and Filton. If you're not sure whether we cover your area, give us a call on 07479 800110.

Our standard working hours are weekday daytimes for scheduled work like installations, repairs and quotes. For genuine plumbing emergencies, our line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including weekends and bank holidays.

For emergencies, yes, always. We're available 24/7 including weekends, evenings and bank holidays for things like burst pipes, serious leaks, no hot water or heating in winter, or overflowing toilets. For non-urgent work like booking a quote or scheduling a bathroom install, we'd usually arrange that during the working week.

For repair work, we charge a low call-out fee plus a fixed price for the actual job, agreed before we start so there are no surprises. For larger projects like bathroom or kitchen installations, we visit your home for a free no-obligation consultation, then send you a written itemised quote covering design, materials, labour and any specialist trades. You'll always know exactly what you're paying for before any work begins.

Yes. All our workmanship comes with a guarantee, and any parts, suites or appliances we supply carry their own manufacturer warranties on top of that. The exact terms are set out in your written quote so everything's clear from the start. If something we've fitted isn't working as it should, we'll come back and put it right.

We focus on fair, honest pricing rather than discounts and inflated prices. You get a competitive quote upfront, first time, every time, with no inflated call-out fees and no surprise extras. For larger jobs like full bathroom or kitchen installations, our quotes are itemised so you can compare like-for-like with any other quote you've had.

Residential only. We're domestic specialists working on houses, bungalows, terraces and flats across Bristol and the surrounding areas. We don't take on commercial premises, industrial sites or large-scale building work. Focusing on homes means we understand exactly how Bristol properties are plumbed and we can do the job properly.

Most things a Bristol home would need. That includes 24/7 emergency call-outs, blocked drains and toilets, leaking taps and pipes, full bathroom installation and renovation, kitchen installation and fitting, gutter cleaning, underfloor heating installation and repair, radiator and central heating work, and gas and boiler work via our Gas Safe engineers. Take a look at our Services page for the full list.

Yes, we charge a low call-out fee, and we'll tell you exactly what it is when you call, before we set off. The fee covers our travel and initial diagnosis. Once we've seen the job, we'll give you a fixed price for the actual repair or installation, agreed with you before any work starts. No hidden charges, no clock-watching, no surprises when the bill arrives.
