Underfloor Heating Installation in Bristol
We install both wet and electric underfloor heating systems across Bristol from single-room electric mats in en-suites to full-home wet systems with manifold and screed. Our engineers handle the design, installation and commissioning, so the whole job runs through one team.
Wet System Installation
We design the pipe layout to suit your space, install the manifold, lay the pipework, and either work alongside your screed contractor or coordinate that for you. Once the floor’s down, we commission the system, balance the flow, and connect it to your existing heating system boiler or heat pump.
Electric System Installation
We supply and lay the heating mat or loose cable to suit your room shape, fit insulation underneath to reflect heat upwards, and arrange the electrical connection through a Part P registered electrician. Most electric installs are completed in 1-2 days for a typical bathroom.
New Build vs Retrofit
New build installations are simpler we design alongside your building plans, install before floors go down, and integrate the system with your wider heating from day one. Retrofit installations need more thought, especially around floor build-up depth and how the new floor height affects doors, skirting and thresholds. We assess all of this at the consultation stage so there are no surprises.

Underfloor Heating Bristol FAQs
It varies significantly depending on system type, area being heated, whether it's new build or retrofit, and what controls you want. A small electric bathroom install starts in the low hundreds; a whole-house wet system can run into thousands. We don't publish prices because they'd be misleading we give you an itemised written quote after a free site visit.
For whole-house heating, full renovations, new builds, or anywhere you'll be using a heat pump, go wet. For bathrooms, ensuites, single-room retrofits, or small spaces used briefly, go electric. We'll talk through your specific situation at the consultation.
For the right project yes. Full renovations, new builds, bathrooms and heat-pump-powered homes benefit hugely from UFH. For single-room upgrades to carpeted rooms in older homes, it's often not worth the cost. We'll give you honest advice before you commit.
An electric bathroom install is usually 1-2 days. A wet system for a single room takes around 2-3 days plus screed drying time. A whole-house wet system in a renovation typically runs 1-2 weeks for the heating side, plus the rest of the construction programme around it.
Yes, but it depends on the room. Ground floor retrofits work well when the floor is coming up anyway; upstairs retrofits are possible but more complex. The main issue is floor build-up adding 30-50mm of new floor height affects doors, skirting and thresholds. We'll assess all of this at the consultation.
Wet UFH paired with a modern boiler or heat pump is typically MORE efficient than radiators. Electric UFH is more expensive per hour of running than gas heating, so it's best used in smaller areas or as comfort heating rather than primary whole-home heating.
Properly installed wet UFH systems are designed to last 50+ years the pipework typically outlasts the rest of the heating system. Electric mats and cables generally last 20-30 years. Controls and thermostats may need replacing earlier. The biggest factor is install quality which is why we don't cut corners on commissioning and pressure-testing.
